How To Create Beautiful Beaded Curtains For Doorways
Beaded curtains for doorways – Rather than spending money on a brand new set of beaded curtains, you may want to think about building your own. If you have a do it yourself attitude, with an hour or so of time, then you can follow the steps included in this article to create your own beautiful set of custom styled beaded curtains for your own home.
Step #1) Cut Out Your Top Board First – Before you are able to begin assembling the beaded curtains you are going to need to first take a measurement of the width at the top of the door opening. You can transfer the measurement onto a 1″x1″ or 2″x2″ board that will hold the hooks and lines.
Step #2) Mark The Holes For Your Hooks – Once you have your board cut for the top of the curtains you will want to start from the center, and working your way towards the outsides, mark spots every 1″ for where the hooks are going to be placed that will hold onto the beaded lines.
Step #3) Measure The Height Of The Door – Now you will need to take a measurement of the height of the doorway opening. This measurement is going to be transferred to the length of the fishing line you will need to cut for each strand of beads.
Step #4) Cut The Line And Attach Your Beads – You can then start cutting out strands of fishing line that are at least 3″ longer than the measurement, that you pulled for the height of the doorway opening. This extra length will ensure enough slack to tie knots and still keep the beads just above the floor.
Step #5) Assemble The Curtains And Hang Them – Now you can begin attaching your hooks to the board, and stringing the lines of beads onto the hooks. Once you’ve finished you can attach the board to the top of the doorway.
That’s all there is to it. Once you’ve completed the steps, you’ll have some beaded curtains for doorways that would make any home owner proud. Beaded curtains for windows also make a lovely home decor option.
