What Type of DVD Stand is Right For You?
DVD stands – Does your DVD collection sit in a pile next to your TV? Maybe you own a DVD storage cabinet, but you bought it many years ago and now it is either falling apart or full from your recent purchases. So, how do you determine what type of DVD stand is right for you?
- DVD stands comes in all different sizes. Some hold as few as 12 DVDs, whereas other large ones can hold up to 1000 DVDs or a combination of DVDs and CDs. Count up how many DVDs you have in your collection, and plan to purchase one that is at least 2X larger than you need today. This will give you room to add more movies in the future, and even include your VHS tapes and CDs.
- Are you interested in a DVD stand that sits on the floor, one that hangs on the wall, or maybe one that can sit on the shelf of your entertainment center. Most manufacturers make many different designs.
- Is this stand going to have doors or be open on most of its sides? If you need/want doors, should they be locking to keep other people or children out of your precious collection?
- What type of materials should the CD/DVD stand be made of to fit your room decor? Most products are manufactured of wood, but there are options for glass and metal also. You should also decide on a color that will match the other furniture in the room. Black is often a safe color that will match most rooms.
- Did you replace your old TV with a flat screen, but keep the old entertainment center? One alternative to a DVD stand is to take a hard look at your entire entertainment center. Maybe it is time to replace the entire thing and upgrade. These new pieces will often have drawers or other places to store large amounts of DVDs and CDs.
Doing your homework and thinking through what your needs are prior to buying a new DVD stand will insure that you make the best choice possible. Choosing the right DVD stand for your living situation will be a largely personal journey, but one that can be fulfilling and rewarding.
