Minecraft Survival Guide For Beginners
Minecraft survival guide for beginners – Survival mode in Minecraft literally drops the player in the middle of nowhere, and most beginners need the aid of a Minecraft survival guide to get their bearings.
Knowing a few simple things about blocks, crafting, day and night cycles, and light sources can get you through your first night, and you can build on your own knowledge from there with or without help from a guide. Day and night is only a 20 minute cycle, so you will need to get to work immediately when you begin, if you hope to survive the night comfortably.
Finding wood is generally the first move for any player in a new world. Clicking and holding on tree blocks will slowly break them apart, and staying close to the blocks will automatically move them to your inventory. Wood is a basic block that will be the foundation for most of what you can craft in the game. Crafting a block of tree wood, alone, will create four wooden planks, which can then be used to create other things. Do not convert all your wood to planks, however, because you will need pure wood later on.
Building a crafting table is the next essential step, because it opens up new possibilities. Crafting four wooden planks together will create the crafting block. Equip it and right click to place the block in the world. Right click again to open up the crafting table, now with nine slots instead of four. This allows you to make pickaxes, which you will need to gather stone blocks.
Two planks on top of each other will create four sticks, and two sticks on top of each other is the basic formula for a handle to a tool. Three wood planks across the top with a handle underneath will create a wooden pickaxe. By now, you should notice that crafting requires logical placement of blocks and items in particular shapes in order to create tools and other items. Try placing blocks in different ways around the top of a handle to create more tools.
Now you have a pickaxe, equip it and begin to mine stone. You can use stone to create a stone pick in the same way, which will be more durable and work quicker. Make sure you have at least eight stone leftover, however, to use to make a furnace. Crafting eight stone blocks around an open middle will create a furnace block, which you can then place in the same way as a crafting table.
Using a furnace requires something to burn and something to melt, which you should already have. Place wooden planks in the bottom slot and wood from a tree in the top. This will form charcoal, which combined on top of a stick will create torches. Now you can build yourself into a mountain and light your way.
