Before you head out and buy a chandelier you need to do some planning about where you plan to hang the light and take some measurements. You are going to need several inches of space between the light and the nearest wall, If they are too close the lights from the chandelier can fade or even burn the paint or wallpaper, and in the worst cases start a fire. You also want to check the available support when you intend to hang the light from. Even the smallest chandeliers can weight a substantial amount, so only use main supports to fix it to. If you don't it could prove costly and dangerous. An iron chandelier is normally pretty easy to clean. Some warm water and a mild detergent with a bit of baking soda mixed in will sort out any problems you might encounter. Your cleaning cloth should only be mildly damp, once you are done cleaning be sure to dry of the fixture, especially in humid climates.
